How one small town worked together to build a state-of-the-art web based GIS solution that everyone could use during tough budget conditions.
Appleton, WI – June 24, 2006, mPower Innovations, the developer of mPower Integrator™, announces that the City of Baxter MN is using mPower Integrator to build an interactive Web GIS for their employees. Cost effectiveness and ease of use were two of the key factors that led the City of Baxter to select mPower Innovations. “Our first intranet site was up and running the day we received the software. Using mPower Integrator we were able to quickly and efficiently create many customized web GIS sites for different groups of users, all with purchasing only one product. The interface is very intuitive and does the programming and coding for you," states Todd DeBoer, the City’s GIS/IS coordinator. The City of Baxter is a small rural community that was able to build a state-of-the-art Web GIS during tough budget conditions. “Our departments really pulled together, cooperating and sharing their resources to make this happen,” stated Todd. The City of Baxter is now sharing GIS data with a majority of departments, as well as with the public.
