Bookkeeper/Accountant
(Full or part-time opportunity)
 
Minimal Requirements
  • Perform financial transactions and entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, commissions, capital expenditures and cash flows to support operational requirements.
  • Audit and reconcile credit card expenses.
  • Manage the relationship with and assist with providing relevant information to the external accounting firm.
  • Process mail and receive payments.
  • QuickBooks Online experience preferred.

Preferred or Additional Capabilities
  • Assist with managing all relationships with lending/financial institutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Assist with data and documentation to support tax planning and compliance with required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
  • Assist with collection calls for past due invoices.
 
 
Pay is $23-$25 an hour and is negotiable based on experience.  
Flexible hours and schedule.

GIS/GPS Technician I

mPower Innovations is a growing GIS software and field services company that operates in all major utility markets. mPower provides industry solutions to utilities nationwide both directly and through established partnerships. mPower is headquartered in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
Our company is seeking a GIS/GPS Technician I to perform GIS data and mapping services and GPS data collection for our customers nationwide. Considerations will be given to Senior GIS Technician status if several bonus items are met.

Summary

The GIS/GPS Technician I is responsible for reading, interpreting, analyzing, entering, and converting customer geographical data and creating or enhancing the information database, maps, and graphics of their geographic information system (GIS).

This position is responsible for GPS field assignments to build, update or validate customer’s assets. Field assignments typically consist of inspecting, verifying, collecting, and compiling data on electric, water, gas, and joint use distribution systems using GPS collection devices and other, miscellaneous GIS software.
This position is expected to assist Senior GIS/GPS Technicians with map development, interpretation, analysis, data entry, and other GIS-related tasks as assigned. The position requires the use of Esri ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D, Trimble Pathfinder Office, MSSQL, Microsoft Office, and other software daily. The technician is also required to understand mPower’s proprietary software products, build related sites to house any field or customer data, and develop the requisite skills to install these products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform GPS surveys utilizing GPS receivers and mobile mapping tools to collect GPS coordinates, joint use measurements, and pole attachment and/or system attribute data quickly and reliability in a variety of settings.
  • Data processing and quality control checks, equipment and deployment preparation, and other project tasks.
  • Provide GIS support to project staff and client technical staff including but not limited to creating and maintaining map products or concept level project drawings using Esri or Autodesk software platforms.
  • Coordinate with project staff and utilize GIS to assist in building customer base and utility maps.
  • Train client technical staff on how to effectively use their GPS receiver/mapping tools, manage data, and GIS software.
  • Performs other related functions as assigned.
  • Follow company policies and report unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field with preference to certification in GIS.
  • Knowledge of SQL coding
  • Ability to use Esri ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro and Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D mapping platforms
  • Read and understand maps and engineering drawings related to utility systems.
  • Use computers, tablets, and GPS handheld devices proficiently.
  • Work outdoors continuously in inclement or severe weather.
  • Stand, walk, hike or ride ATV/UTVs for an extended time in rough and uneven terrain, steep hillsides, creeks, remote areas, and heavily traveled roadways.
  • Bend, reach and move to carry items weighing 25 lbs. or more.
  • Must feel comfortable working alone and/or on a team.
  • Travel to support inspection and field data collection activities anywhere nationally up to 100% of work time.
  • Must have a current and valid US Driver's license, be insurable on an auto policy with no major driving infractions and be able to travel by airline.

Bonus Abilities
  • Experience identifying Electric utility distribution network pole attachments/assets/infrastructure (strongly preferred)
  • Experience using Trimble GPS hardware and software
  • Experience writing code in Python and/or JavaScript
  • Experience using XML, JSON, and CSV data types
  • Proficient with MS SQL Server and MS Server
  • Proficient with Esri Server and Esri Enterprise
  • Knowledge of SOAP and MultiSpeak protocols
  • Knowledge of RESTful API
  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud technologies

GIS/GPS Field Technician

mPower Innovations is a growing GIS software and field services company that operates in all major utility markets. mPower provides industry solutions to utilities nationwide both directly and through established partnerships. mPower is headquartered in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
 
Our growing company is seeking a GIS/GPS Field Technician to perform visual inspections and data collection related to overhead/above ground utility assets and perform QA/QC of collected data for various projects in several states nationally.
 
Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in GIS, Geomatics, Survey, Geography, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, or related field, OR
  • Experience in Utility Pole Inspection or Underground or Overhead Utility Location is required.
  • Experience using GPS hardware and software (such as Trimble, Arrow, Leica, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to identify or learn to identify assets/infrastructure/equipment of utility distribution networks.
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously in inclement or severe weather.
  • Ability to stand, walk, hike or ride ATV/UTVs for an extended time in rough and uneven terrain, steep hillsides, creeks, remote areas, and heavily traveled roadways.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move to carry items weighing 25 lbs. or more.
  • Must feel comfortable working alone and/or on a team.
  • Ability to travel to support project deployment and field data collection activities anywhere nationally up to 100% of work time.

Responsibilities

  • Field data collection, data processing, equipment and deployment preparation, GIS production work and other project tasks.
  • Utility pole inspection, tagging, and analysis of infrastructure.
  • Perform quality control checks of data collected on GPS collection equipment.
  • Analyze GIS data, update and maintain GIS databases.
  • Provide technical support to users of GIS software and equipment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Marketing & Inside Sales Assistant
Part-time (potential for full time)
15-20 hours per week
 
The Marketing & Inside Sales Assistant works directly with the Marketing Director and is responsible for completing assigned marketing and sales related activities in a timely and accurate fashion. This position requires attention to detail, superior communication skills, a flexible schedule, and the ability to travel overnight (less than once per month). This is an entry level position. 
 
Objectives of this Role
  • Maintain an accurate calendar of all sales and marketing related activities
  • Maintain, update, and import account and contact information into software databases including Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, and Excel.
  • Maintain and update a database of member associations and key contacts
  • Organize and manage marketing collateral
  • Prepare marketing materials for tradeshows and conferences
  • Assist with the registration and successful execution of monthly webinars
  • Assist in direct mail campaigns
  • Update company website and social media accounts
  • Participate at tradeshows and other events as needed
  • Assist with annual User Group Conference and company meetings
  • Record minutes and create agendas for weekly sales and marketing meetings
  • Become well versed in company software and service offerings and be willing to present at conferences and tradeshows
  • Assist sales team with cold calls and or emails
  • Ensure leads are assigned and followed up in a timely manner
  • Record and assign tasks to sales team as appropriate
